"Conversations with people in the electorate are always positive. It's been great to see people feeling open and able to talk about what matters."
Our convenor Sue Chapman had a great chat with Barry Green of Donnybrook Balingup Community Radio.
"One of our real concerns was the feeling that there was a diverse population in our community, and that the COVID pandemic had really started to put people a lot more into little silos. The community had become a little less important, and a long standing one party domination of our political scene meant that a lot of people felt disenfranchised and disengaged from politics. So the kitchen table conversation model is basically asking a group of people to come around the table and as questions like, do you know who our representative is, what do you like about the area where you live, what do you like to see done differently and what are your main concerns."
Sue talks about the main issues coming out of our conversations, and what can be done about it.
