Join us for talks with Dr Carolyn Orr and Dr Rachel Horncastle from Doctors for the Environment Australia.

Carolyn will be speaking about how some industries make their money at the expense of health. Fossil fuels, tobacco, alcohol and ultra processed foods make us sick and threaten our future. Efforts to rein them in are often stymied by the enormous influence these industries have over the political landscape and media. How can we elevate public health and wellbeing above private profit?
Dr Carolyn Orr is a practicing neurologist and wannabe comedian and storyteller. She represents Doctors for the Environment Australia, a group of medical doctors who understand that human health requires a healthy, biodiverse and unpolluted planet. She'll infuriate you with the harm certain industries are doing to our health, reveal the strategies they use to keep getting away with it, and show you that a better healthier future is within our grasp.
Dr Rachel Horncastle will explore how nature benefits people of all ages - from children's development and mental health to healthy ageing and chronic disease prevention. The talk will also touch upon the environmental benefits of urban greening, including cleaner air, cooling, biodiversity and more liveable neighbourhoods.
